A FEAST FIT FOR AN OLYMPIAN

March 1, 2022

Rex’s Family of Restaurants in Steamboat Springs proves a popular choice for Olympian’s past and present.

The cowbells are clanging in Steamboat Springs as the 2022 Winter Olympians trickle back into town. For a small mountain community, there are big reasons to celebrate.  This year’s games marked a milestone, as the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club hit a total of 100 athletes to make Olympian status. It’s the highest number of Olympians to come out of one town, anywhere in the nation.
“The entire community of Steamboat has grown to support our athletes and help push them to become champions,” says Taylor Fletcher, four-time Olympian in Nordic Combined.

Despite their stratospheric achievements in the world of sport, when they come home, they are people first and Olympians second. They are a family member, a friend and a community member. Like everyone in the tight-knit town of Steamboat, they know how to support each other and have fun.

The same can be said for Rex Brice and Rex’s Family of Restaurants, who prides himself on supporting his loyal workforce and helping them to reach their own goals. The company has been a Steamboat staple on the local dining scene for decades. “Loyalty works both ways,” says Rex, who counts many of the local Olympians as customers. The last two weeks have been a nail-biting experience for the community, as television screens across town aired broadcasts from Beijing. Coaches, athletes and former stars of their sport, gathered around to cheer and celebrate. Throughout all of Rex’s seven restaurants, drink glasses were raised, and stories were shared.  Just like their willingness to share tips on snow, they are happy to give hints on what to order when to come to Ski Town USA.
